THOMAS ISAAC

Thomas was born in 1976 in Chiredzi in Masvingo province, south- east Zimbabwe. After moving to Harare he met his uncle Gladman Zinyeka, a well-known artist now deceased, in Chitungwiza. Zinyeka taught him the art of carving, sharing with him his precious knowledge.
Isaac worked as his apprentice for few years and in 1995 felt ready to start working on his own. He is now a passionate sculptor with an interesting style who focuses mainly on representing abstract faces and abstract animals. He is a resident artist of Chitungwiza Arts Centre.
