Born in 1973 into a family of nine in Murehwa, he attended secondary school in Mvurwi where many of the best sculpting stones are sourced. Reason’s home area is a place with a strong sculpting tradition and he developed a passion in art in 1992 after being inspired by his brother Tribe and friend Tutani Mgabazi who has recently exhibited in Germany.
He started sculpting stone in 2001 after spending much of his time vending other artists works. Most of his work is sending a message of passion, love and anguish. He finds the situation in the country a challenge, especially on the market side due to very few customers. Despite this he continues to sculpt, in his own words “I want to make the Shona art movement proud.”
He is now happily married with one girl and two boys.
