Chenjerai is one of the few artists who works not only with serpentine stones but also with scrap metal and wood. The subjects of Chenjerai’s work are emotional and sometimes political. His carving is often inspired by music, as he believes music to be not only the heart of Zimbabwean art but a common language that connects the world.
In 1992 he won the 1st prize at the National Heritage Exhibition in Harare. His first exhibition was held in The Hague in the Netherlands in 1993. His works have been included in collections in the USA, UK, Germany, Belgium and Norway. Chenjerai is a resident at Tsindi Cooperative in Hatfield, Harare.
